DSM Members hold June 12 Activities

Call for Mass Resistance against Petrol Price Hike and other Anti-poor Policies On Monday June 12, members of the DSM held different activities across 4 states of the federation to mark the 30th anniversary of the June 12, 1993 presidential election whose annulment triggered a struggle against military rule and eventually led to the restoration of civil rule in 1999.

June 12: 30 Years After

Today marks the 30th anniversary of June 12 1993 presidential election which was won by MKO Abiola but annulled by Ibrahim Babangida’s military regime. The struggle triggered by the annulment heightened the resistance against the continued military rule and eventually led to the restoration of civil rule in 1999. Today 24 years after, none of the socio-economic malaise and suppression
