On Sunday, January 18, 2026, members of the branch gathered at the NULGE Event Centre, Dugbe, Ibadan, for the New Year get-together and its first meeting of the year. The meeting, which commenced at 2pm, served as an important avenue for reflection, evaluation, and strategic planning.
Participants collectively reviewed the branch’s activities in 2025, critically examined the challenges encountered, and agreed on practical steps to overcome these challenges in the new year. The discussions helped to reignite members’ passion and strengthen their resolve to continue to identify with the daily struggles and immediate demands of the working people and youth and commit to the struggle for a socialist transformation of Nigeria
The formal session later gave way to a relaxed celebration, during which members shared food and drinks and enjoyed music in a warm, comradely atmosphere.
The event successfully combined serious political engagement with camaraderie and concluded at about 6:30 pm, leaving participants energised and optimistic about the tasks ahead in 2026.
