National Conscience Party – Lagos StatePRIVATISATION SCANDALSALE OF GOVERNMENT HOUSES: OBASANJO SHOULD RESIGN NOW!
It has been our position that this civilian regime at all levels is drenched in corruption. The current accusation and counter accusation of bribery and corruption is just a confirmation of our long held position.
The latest exposition of the secret sales of federal government choice property (our common wealth) to privileged individuals and government officials including relations of Mrs. Stella Obasanjo, the vice President, Abubakar Atiku, Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, Finance Minster, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of Justice, Chief Akinlolu Olujimi and Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Minister for Works and Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola amongst others under the guise of privatisation.
PRIVATISATION IS CORRUPTION
Privatisation is a legal robbery where our common wealth, public property are cornered cheaply by government officials and their friends and it is the height of executive corruption, which makes the N55 million scandal a child play.
President Obasanjo’s query to his Housing Minister on the sale of government property to Stella’s family and his ministers is hypocritical and unacceptable. The grandstanding is to deceive Nigerians that he was asleep when the influence of the presidency was being used to fester their nest.
Nigerians should not be deceived about Obasanjo’s "saintly disposition". It has shown that the whole regime is irredeemably corrupt and lack integrity to continue to rule over us.
OBASANJO SHOULD STEP ASIDE
Now that corruption resides in Obasanjo’s bedroom, we call on the presidency to resign forthwith to allow for an independent probe of his regime, his privatisation policy and how the government has spent over N10 trillion in the past six years without any concrete development to show for it.
Armed robbers that caught pickpockets should not become celebrities. Corruption is corruption. All allegations and people involved must be probed without fear or favour.
